Ben ‘Tando’ Dwyer put in another impressive victory on Friday 4th November at the St. Mary’s show, Chatham, Kent. Pitted against the home club’s Thomas Collins, Tando took a 2nd round stoppage victory.
Tando was delighted with his victory, building on his win on October 15th on the Eastbourne show;
“I came out and started quite slowly, got caught with some sloppy shots but kept coming forward and putting pressure on the kid. I troubled him with a few shots in the first round. In the second, I kept up the pressure on him. I had him on the ropes a few times where I kept the pressure up and caught him with an uppercut then a left hook followed by a right. The corner then threw the towel in as the ref was about to give a standing count.”
Brighton and Hove did the double with the Exciting and talented Danny Pearce scoring a split decision win against St Mary’s Dion Eede. “He’s a top class kid is Eede, so we’re delighted with Danny’s performance and win.” Said Coach Rob Purkis.
Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove’s Super-heavyweight Tom Welch won a unanimous points decision to become the NABGC’s Southern Counties Champion beating Rumbles’ Jack Draper. Using his jab to set up long range combinations, Tom fired home some cracking shots. Great resilience shown by the Rumbles man, huge credit must be given to Draper, but the Sussex man came out on top.
Well done to Brighton and Hove – another top outing for the Sussex club.
